Privacy

Plain words, no fine print games.

The app

Possum Josh's 2D VTuber collects nothing about you. No tracking, no analytics, no account. Your avatars and settings stay on your computer.

The app only goes online for two things:

  • It checks this website for the list of tutorials, so new videos show up in the Tutorials menu. That's a plain download of a small file. It doesn't send anything about you.
  • It talks to Steam to confirm you own the app. That's handled by Steam, under Valve's privacy policy.

If you turn on Twitch features, the app connects to Twitch with the account you choose, only to read your chat for the reactions you set up. Nothing from it is sent to me.

This website

  • Forms. If you send a tutorial request or a business inquiry, I get what you typed: your message, and your name, email and company if you added them. It's delivered to me by email through a form service called Web3Forms, with an "I'm not a robot" check from hCaptcha to stop spam. I only use it to plan tutorials, reply to you, and talk business if that's what you asked about. I never sell it or share it.
  • Videos. Tutorial videos come from YouTube. The video doesn't load until you press play, and it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Once you press play, Google's privacy policy applies to that video. Preview pictures for videos are loaded from YouTube too.
  • Links to other sites. Merch, 3D print files and mods are on other sites (like my merch store or MakerWorld). Their own privacy policies apply once you click through.
  • Fonts. The lettering comes from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google for the font files.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps basic technical logs (like IP addresses) to keep the site running and safe.
  • Ads. There are no ads on the site right now. If I add them later, this page will be updated first to explain the cookies they use.
  • The site itself sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics.
